STUDENT SAFETY
Private study. Clear help.
A deliberately simple safety design and one clear way to report a concern.
Version 31 August 2026 · local draft1. Safety by design
- No public student profiles, social feed, comments, direct messages, friend system, leaderboards or location features.
- Lessons can be used without creating a public identity.
- No behavioural advertising or pressure to share extra information.
- Administrative access is restricted and sensitive actions are logged.
- The current direct account route is for learners aged 16 or over.
2. For students
- Never put an address, password, medical information or another person’s private information into an answer.
- Do not share a magic sign-in email or an active session.
- If content or account activity worries you, stop and tell a trusted adult.
- Practice feedback is an estimate, not a judgement of ability or an official grade.
3. Report a safety concern
Email safety@bytesizenotes.com. Include only what is needed: the page or account concerned, what happened, when it happened and a safe way to reply. Do not send passwords or unnecessary private information.
The inbox is checked on working days and is not an emergency service. ByteSizeNotes aims to acknowledge a report within one working day.
4. What happens next
- The operator reads the report and checks whether anyone appears to be at immediate risk.
- Only the minimum relevant information is kept in a restricted record.
- ByteSizeNotes may restrict an account or preserve relevant technical evidence while checking the concern.
- If the concern is serious, it may be referred to an appropriate school, platform provider or authority. Confidentiality cannot be promised where disclosure is needed to protect someone.
- The reporter receives a practical update when it is safe and lawful to provide one.
5. Urgent help
If someone may be in immediate danger, contact a trusted adult and the appropriate emergency service now. In Cyprus and across the EU, call 112. ByteSizeNotes is not a counselling or emergency service.
